Three-dimensional AnalysisModelling the ObjectThree-dimensional objects are entered as a series of component groups, each describing a two-dimensional section of the object for a specified thickness. A sketch of the model should therefore be made as an orientation aid for input of layers in the z direction. Such an orientation sketch should show the object in orthogonal sections, including reference coordinates consistent in all three directions. For the three-dimensional demonstration object, the sketch would show the geometry as follows: x/y sectionsee sketch of 2-dimensional model! x/z section
z/y section
The reference list of material properties for the two-dimensional section modelled in the last chapter covers nearly all of the materials required here. The only new material is that of the perimeter brick, for which λ = 0.500.
